It was over a decade ago in a hastily converted garage in a windy Cape Town suburb that my love for yoga began. I was instantly hooked by the way the yoga practice helped me in everyday life. It wasn’t that my worries and problems were completely removed, but it all seemed more manageable and the weight of it all put into perspective. The physical benefits seemed to be a bonus to the all the mental help.
I did my teacher training after lockdown in 2020 and by the following year was lucky enough to be part of the teaching team.
I’d like to believe my classes are uncomplicated and accessible with my focus mostly being on moving and breathing in a rhythmical way. The “flock of birds” idea is what I really aim for in class. When everyone moves and breathes together in a rhythm or a dance, individually and as a collective, that’s where the magic happens.
